After my 9-year-old son took his nightly shower, he suddenly asked to talk to me alone. He asked, “How do I become successful? What is success?”

At first, I thought it would be easy to explain. However, as I tried to define success in a way a child could grasp, I realized how complex the concept really is. The more I talked, the deeper I sank into abstract ideas, and soon I could see his curiosity fade into confusion.

Later, I shared the question on 2betterU, hoping for some collective wisdom. The responses were thoughtful, and one comment stood out to me:

“Success is doing your best and being happy with the results.”

It was simple yet captured in the most comprehensive meaning. And perhaps the truest starting point for understanding success—at any age.
